Basic Salt Dough Recipe

Ok here is a basic salt dough recipe for all you creative crafting!!


1 cup salt
2 cups flour
1/2 water

Mix until dough is soft but not sticky, roll into ball and wrap in saran wrap for about 20 min then dough is ready to roll out and start creating with.

You can also add other items such as paste, applesauce, spice, food coloring, etc to change the look of the dough.

Wishes for Spring

Man oh Man , am I ready for Spring. It is so cold here right now, 7 degrees with a windchill of -6 (lower West Virginia). But yesterday, I had the most amazing thing happen at the house, I was sitting in the living room and there on the banisters of my deck was 10 of the most beautiful Eastern Blue Birds. Oh my I just went crazy, I got some great pics that I have posted below. I am a avid bird watcher, and I tell you I was so excited to see them. I will probably never see them like that again. But it just made me want spring all that much more!! Normally of the spring and summer , I spend my weekend mornings (early mornings about 6:00) sitting on my deck watching my bird feeders, sipping my coffee; with my binoculars and bird book in hand. Keeping a list of all the species that come to my feeders , so far I am up to about 25 (so cool). Man I just can't wait till Spring gets here.

Me and my husband started our first flats of seeds for this season. We have a small green house and grow all of our own vegetables and flowers. This year we are hoping to set up at our local farmers market to sell some plants and such. But that is just one more step closer to Spring.
